On Wednesday, I (Amanda) cataloged our 1,000th book! Of course, I had to document the momentous event with photos.
We are excited to see this blog about the cataloging work being done at the Bernice Bienenstock Furniture Library. Our group, a part of Dr. Richard Moniz Jr.’s The Special Library course (LIS 657), conducted a group research project on the Bernice Bienenstock Furniture Library just last February. After contacting Mrs. Karla Webb, we visited the library and realized the scope of the work that needed to be done in the library. We are really thrilled to see that perhaps Ms. Webb took our suggestion to contact UNCG’s MLIS program for help in cataloging the collection. We know how much needs to be done and are proud that you all have taken on the job. Best wishes. Please send our regards to Ms. Webb. We will be following this blog with interest.
Thanks so much! We’re excited to be working on the project. You’re right – it’s a big job, but we’re having fun doing it. I hope you can all come see the collection when we’re finished cataloging, labeling, and shelving.
